Ingredients:

1/3 C. Pure Maple Syrup 1 tsp. Vanilla Extract

1 C. Brown Sugar 1/2 C. Water

1/2 tsp. Salt 1 C. Butter

1/4 C. Chocolate Chips Assorted nuts (optional)

Over medium heat, combine the butter, brown sugar, water, and maple syrup in a tall-sided pot. Once 290°, add vanilla and salt; it will bubble up, so be very careful with the hot candy. Pour into ice cube trays or silicone molds. After it’s just started to set, add a few chocolate chips to melt and spread a thin layer across the toffee and add a few nuts if desired, cool 15 minutes, and pop out of the molds.

Note: Pour only a little toffee into the molds, so it is easier to bite into, or spread thinly on a cookie sheet. Dust with coarse salt for extra flavor.
